You should consider lot many factors... writing a few here
1) The nature of business
2) The product or service you are providing
3) The target customers
4) Locality
5) Where the business is planned for international market
All the above factors you can consider to start with.
However, there are many other brands in the market who actually might have not thought about all these and are sucssesful nowadays. For example, Kentucky Fried chicken(KFC), Apple :)
Hi Ghada,I would like to think of this in a new way, linking the social media revolution and the SEO (search engine optimization) where you need to attract the Internet audience to your site/facebook/linkedin/twitter..social media through the name and the content. which will save you at least50% of the marketing campaigns.

You should consider
◘ what people should understand from reading just your business name
◘ your services
◘ if you can make the name a brand later or not.
◘ you should mention the motto like for snickers it " you dont know who you are when you are hungry"/ xerox "A world made simpler"
◘ creating a website so the name should not be used by others.
◘ never copy other brand or company names bring a new one. if you copy or the name is similar to the other company then every one will say you are a copy of that bussiness or that products.
and many more you should consider.....
my family name, kids name, daughter name, religious personality, famous brand words into my brand etc that is most of the businesses in Pakistan.
