In an induction cooker, a coil of copper wire is placed underneath the cooking pot. As the induction cooker is switched on, current (AC current,50 Hz) flows through the coil. This current produces a magnetic field according to Biot - Savart Law. This magnetic field induces an electric current according to Ampere's Law. This induced current flows in the metal pot which in turn produces heat energy. This heat energy is due to the resistive nature of the metal pot. Food is cooked using this heat energy.
