HELLO NO ,they just gouge students with unnecessary charges
I would like to say "NO" but I really can't! The basic learning concept is the same but I fear that many private schools are now very much "elitist". Money talks and with the amount of financial backing that many private schools have they can "buy" the little extras that public schools are just not funded for. There is no question however that the dedication of the majority of teachers in public schools is commensurate with that of teachers in private schools even though there may be an appreciable difference in salaries!! I hasten to add that my answer is based on what I know of the UK education system and I can't speak about other countries.
