I personally don't believe so. I have successfully worked as Record Keeper without getting any training/course.
As per my Knowledge and experience it can be learnt by going in to it, I mean by doing it practically and off course having some theoretical knowledge about record keeping it can be done effectively. So i will conclude that both- courses and practical exposure are necessary to learnt good Record Keeping.

In ISO certified companies a procedure will be followed for the record keeping. So there must be a rule to keep the records for easy tracking. No need to undergo the keeping of records by joining a specific course. it is through experience of work.
WE MUST HAVE ENOUGH KNOWLEDGE TO DO OUR JOB PROPERLY.
