I believe a good journalist is a good writer, he would possess the skill set required with good use of vocabulary, however i believe to be a creative novelist it takes more than just being able to writing incidents that have happened. Writing a creative novel requires creativity and the ability to create a fantasy world in which the reader would immerse themselves in.
Maybe with a few exception i do not think a journalist would make a creative novelist .
