Do you prefer having a male boss or a female boss? Why?

The question assumes gender-quality, equity & fair chance employment at work & is not aimed at stirring (geography-related) feminist or anti-feminist discussions. How do qualified female & male manager differ, professionally?

I kind of hate answering this and pointing out but according to several research studies conducted in this regard point out towards women being not so ideal bosses. They're often hormonal and suffer from extreme mood swings, sharp tounged etc. The studies i'm refering to included feedback from not only males but also females. Two-thirds according to one stated they preferred a male boss. Many claimed to leave the job because of the female manager etc.

However in my personal view I do NOT mind having a female boss at all. I've had the pleasure of working for a female regional marketing manager and she was a pleasure to work with. She had amazing work ethic, approachable, friendly, extremely brilliant and sensational marketing and mentoring skills. Therefore i've never personally had such a bad experience.

To sum it up: I believe it depends on the individual, if they are professionally skilled, organized and talented, their gender is irrelevant. It's not like we men don't have our issues, ofcourse we do. Thus I wouldn't mind working for either of the genders as long as they've got excellent leadership and managerial qualities.

Gender doesn't matter to me at all. What matters, is the ability to lead and influence the team in a more humane and professional way.

It doesn't matter whether the boss is a male or female as long as working towards achieving company's strategic goals, leads the group by example, encourage new ideas/innovations, provide guidance and career path to employees, being impartial with all team members..

Gender dosn't matter,  Both could be MOSTERS and both could be a person you will always like to work with him/her.

We cannot judge a Boss on gender basis. Boss should be innovative, socialistic & aim oriented to achieve the highest degree of success.

I would prefer boss to whom I can get co-relate my views and also his views to myself.

That doesn't make a difference as long as he/she has high professional standards.

I don't mind having both gender as bosses. I think the management style does not depend on one's gender but rather on their personal development ,emotional stability and awareness. I have seen women bosses with more male attitude and stability and men with more female qualities. There are things in both genders that we have seen and dont like. It really depends on the person and how his mind and emotions connect to form stability.

principaly it should not be gender base around the world but it is observed that the decion making of females are through heart and males make decion mostly from brain. so it looks awkward to say that males are normally good at decion making  position but thats true. another thing which must be in consideration is that organisations working as creating products like advertisement, fashion, art related products, females are more effective than males. it is rather another point to mention that ladies fashion, cosmetics etc , even female garments are designed by males, astonishing ,,

I wouldn't so much worry or bother myself about gender,l respect professionlism in the person who is above me.I also would want that person to be sensitive and respectful. To a large extent they should be able to draw a line between social and work related issues.Among the most important, this should suffice.

I think the majority of the people will answer the expected, that  it doesn't matter, as long as the manager has got what it takes for the position and all the qualifications of a manager. But I read an article recently and I want to put it into discussion.

The article said that in a crisis period, according ro research, a woman leader is better because women have some specific characteristics than men lack. Such as: women are good listeners, the are more carefull, they don't want conflicts but unity, and they have a natural detestion to an unnecessery risk  So why do women don't have more managerial jobs? Because you need more effort, time and energy to achieve a high profile job and a small percentage of women tend to have all three of them. Let's not forget that as long there is a family, the woman is the one that will have to sacrifice more of herself and her ambitions than the man.

So, what do you think?

I would prefer a male boss. Comparatively female bosses like working and getting their work done in a controlled environment so pressing the employee to work with specific orders might decrease my chances of being creative. A male boss however, will let me work on the assignments by myself, and finish them in ways that i deem necessary which gives a way of trusting eachother. P.S. No hard feeling because it is my experience and it can differ too.
