Human values are to be respected irrespective of cast, creed, culture, gender and religion to build any type of relationship including business.

Oh Absolutely! culuture is manifested and fused in business practises and processes (both international and local businsses) behavioral norms, values etc. Before going on an internartional business trip I'd love to learn about the country, it's cultural, social, religious and political values. This gives you a very good insight into how to improve relationships with current strategic business partners/clients and / or establishing relations with future potentials.

It also shows to them that we don't look down on them and took the time to understand how things work in THEIR country, what are their preferences and practises etc. this is at the heart of capitalizing on international relations.

Aside from business prespective, It's simply just exciting to visit somewhere new and whitness others way of life.

Good question, Venera.

I always like to read, ask or know about a new country of destination. I’m naturally curious in that sense. I do believe, however, that you can only familiarize yourself with a country in a real sense, when you’re there interacting with people & spending reasonable time there while getting in touch with different facet of its society and culture. Seeing is believing. This experience is truly invaluable, as it gives you the feeling that your world is becoming bigger and boundary-free, every time you become more flexible & appreciative and/or tolerant of a totally new culture.

Cultures do affect businesses for sure. I can illustrate with a simple example related to marketing. Marketing is strongly related to psychology and psychology is one discipline that is variable to culture. If you can’t master or understand the market psychology of a certain country, you are likely to end up as a “blooper-marketer” & the world of marketing is full of such examples related to lack of understanding of local cultures, expectation, do’s & do not’s.

Of course, it's one of the first things one must do.

Culture, do's and don't of the society and the traditions are always a plus point.

Communications is the first key in your business key series, to be successful in an  international business you should know how to communicate with the  peoples of the  country and this will not happen if you don’t study their culture well even you can go further by learning their languages.

I will get familiar with the country's culture as much as I can.

Culture certainly affects business a great deal, in my opinion, through its formation of people. One of the main constituents of culture is the accepted value system. The prevalent value system shapes it's peoples' consious and intuition which are main basis for decision making and prioritization.

Yes, its absolutely necessary to know the culture of the country, especially going for business trip.  Familiar with culture of the country, i.e. about the country, food & accommodation, transportation, currency & banking standards, the way of people behaviour, business rules and regulations of the country, customs & tax system of the country, political background, how to wish the people, how to introduce him/herself etc. are the minimim things to know.

Adding some words of their local language also gives them boost.

Speaking to other businesspeople who have previously been to that country on business and ask them for advice will give us more awareness. Number of websites available to know about the country, where one would like to travel.

Culture is systems of values that are shared among a group of people and that when taken together constitute a design for living. Cultures have effects on: consumer behaviour, local demand, buying decisions, brand image. It also influences managerial styles and management decisions.

Understanding cultural differences and overcoming language barriers are some of the considerations people should have when dealing with business with people of various cultures. Often business deals are lost because the parties involved did not take the time to learn about their each others' cultures prior to interacting.

Understanding the importance of culture and respecting the role it plays in the lives of potential customers in foreign markets is vital and could mean the difference between the success or failure of your overseas ventures.
