It might be due to your computer hardware not being strong enough. As Vishnu Mentionned there are minimum requirement for it to work at best speed.

If you are using a PC, you can check your specifications in going to computer, right-click and properties. It will tell you what you have as specs.

Compare to the previous versions CS6 is little bit high in performance, for smooth running you need minimum i7 processor and1 GB Graphics card
