i think the video card or HDD having a problem? what is your Hp D?? a desktop or a laptop??
If it's a brand new machine, then you may have warranty. Get back to where you bought it.
There are two symptoms of this problem
1. Your hard disk drive not detected / Hard Disk fault
2. Wrong setting in BIOS (Boot Sequence / Peripheral Settings).
- Please check from BIOS by Pressing F10 from boot screen.
3. Operating system might get corrupted / Windows Boot Settings changed.
- In this case. Boot from Windows DVD. Select from first boot up dialog - Startup Repair / Repair your Computer.
WE need to set-up the Windows because when you buy pre installed system and start first time then we need to set-up the operating system.
Change boot sequence from BIOS and then restart your computer
no os or bios setup you need to change booting option if there's os and its new as you said
