The question is too general to be answered in a post, but in a hurry:
The advantages of using technology is visualizing things which are difficult to be visualized in classical tools, saving time, giving immediate results in some courses, and attracting students using different senses.
The main disadvantages of over-using the technology is the distraction of students and the lazy teachers may abuse it.
