In a lumpSum project contract, the BOQ is just aguidance for the rates, quantities shown on the BOQ are only indicative. Completion of the works/quantities is according to drawings and specifications.

For variation claims, Quantities and specifications to be compared to Contract drawings and specifications and using BOQ rates. For new items which are not in the BOQ, some items can be prorated to BOQ items and some which are completely new to have abreak down based on quotations or, purchse orders
