. i use windows server2008 and a client windows7. i couldn't join this client pc to domain. Showing AD DS couldn't contact the domain controller . Help ..
Well, you should check:
1. the two machine are on the same VMnet.
2. The client machine is configured with the required TCP/IP configuration, and it must has DNS.
If the AD has no errors and healthy, first you must check if you can ping to the AD Server IP address from client and vice versa. if its working, check if you have added the DNS server (which would be the AD server in most cases) IP address on client PC network configuration. thirdly check if any AV firewall is enabled on client or server and if its blocking the Domain services ports (tcp, udp) which is required for client server communication. hope this solves your issue.
Should be on tghe same network/subnet and assign a static dns entry pointing to the IP of your Domain Controller. Make sure also that your DC has a pproperly configured DNS Role.
Hope this helps.

then both VM should be on the same subnet and the client should have as primary DNS the IP of the DC.
after doing so, check whether client is able to ping the DC and vise versa,
Atleast server should be able to ping your client machine. If you cannot ping, check the network settings in VM's Settings, both server and client should be on SAME network.
Make sure your DNS is properly configured and in client's LAN settings, you have mentioned Server's IP Address as Primary DNS.
