nursing has evolved through times and with dawning of the new era and with the birth of modern technologies, nursing career has stepped up to new heights. The fundamentals though have played important role in molding nurses to the realms of nursing life, but with the advancement of modern technologies, nurses were given wider scope in the treatment and care of patients. I belonged to a third world country where not all healthcare facilities were equipped with modern technologies. Above all, its the attitude and core values of the Filipino nurses that will make a great difference. That passion, drive and patience for caring patients  and openess and easy adaptability to new learning and experiences to pursue and progress in the nursing career.

Once you have qualified, you will be able to apply within your chosen branch: adult; learning disability; child or mental health.
Your first job will give you the chance to make the transition from a student to a qualified member of the team.
With that transition you will take on a range of new responsibilities: supervision; delegation; management and training, as well as building on the skills and knowledge you have gained as a student.
It is crucial to make the most of this job and use it as a stepping stone to the rest of your career.
A nursing qualification can be very flexible and can open up a wide range of career options.
You can start your working life on a hospital ward, in the community or in a hostel for the homeless.
You could start to specialise, take further qualifications: aim to become a nurse practitioner, school nurse or occupational health nurse.
You could work overseas either with a voluntary organisation or in a country where your nurse qualification is recognised.
Perhaps you could take advantage of the expanding opportunities in nursing consultancy work.
Working in organisations outside the mainstream of health care is always an option, and it can give you a broader perspective to draw on if you return to the NHS.
One starting point when considering your options is to think back to your training: what parts of it did you really enjoy? As you gain experience in different areas you'll find that you develop new interests and consider different opportunities.
To get an idea of what's out there; here are some examples of the range of organisations that employ nurses: • NHS Trusts and GP consortia • Nursing agencies • Private hospitals, nursing homes and residential care homes • Schools • Local authorities • Occupational health departments for a range of employers • Trade unions and professional organisations • Journals and publishers • Charities/voluntary organisations • Pharmaceutical/medical supplies companies • The Blood Transfusion Service • The Armed Forces
