How would you distinguish content curation versus online monitoring?

I honestly think that content curation is going to be how we search in the future.
There's way too much content being created and posted each day for us to possibly wade through it all and find what we are really looking for.
More and more we are (and will) rely on topic experts to guide us to the best content.
Online monitoring is analyzing traffic on the Internet.
Monitoring is performed to determine packet volume for network configuration.
