Sales is like any other job, it needs trained people to perform it. In order to have professional people selling your products and/or services, you must train them well. There are key knowledge that salespeople must have:
Other trainings depends on the individual's own level of skills. Some need basic sales training (such as Prospecting Skills and Sales Presentation Skills), others would need more advanced courses (such as Strategic Selling and CRM).
In summary, you must continuously train, coach and develop your salespeople regardless of the experience that they have.
I agree with Abdel Fattah. What was listed are basic and mostly soft skills that are essential. I will add some additional sales methodologies and tools that will drive sales growth, such as: account planning, value selling, challenger selling, opportunity management. Of couse not everything applies to all sales people Equally important, upskillikng process is a change process that needs the right ingredients to make it successful and sustainable.
