Similarities of Lan and wan ?

both used to make a network :  LAN small network or local network 

                                                         WAN large network or wide area netword 

they both use basic protocols for communication and and u can use WAN technologies to connect two LAN for example 

LAN : its local network "same like companies"

WAN : wide network "same like internet "
