Hello Souhad. What does OEE stands for?Overall equipment effectiveness?
In my opinion, "overall equipment effectiveness" would help improve efficiency in these manners:
* Availability: Downtime would mean halt in production, so less product in a set period of time. Good availability (uptime) would ensure consistent yield over time. Increased availability would also help to improve yield over time.
* Performance: Faster process helps to reduce the total cycle time, especially if the process is a bottleneck.
* Quality: Quality result means minimum rework and there is minimum waste in terms of time, manpower and resources.
OEE is the phenomena of calculating Overall Equipment Efficiency. In the other words if the equipment are being used to produce an article has good efficiency than automatically your plant efficiency will improve. There are certain measures which need to be included in order to calculate the OEE.
OEE of a machine improves when the downtimes are minimum. These includes proper maintainance at first because breakdown of machine will cause a serious efficiency loss and can also lead to drastic effects. The job setting time should be minimum, there should be negligible amount of program editing, cleaning and job inspection time should be minimum. The basic concept is that the door open and close time in case of CNC machines should be minimum. Tool setting time should be minimum in tooling department. Proper load planing is required. There also other factors but these are very critical.
