Both are good, normally when recruiter shortlist resume s/he made an telephonic call to judge validity of cv, voice, passion, response level n communication skills, recruiter also communicate job role and ask for expected salary in telephonic call, and then discuss time slot/day/date for initial interview to for detail meeting with candidate to observe body language, sincerity, health, attitude etc.
I am all for face-to-face interviews over telephonic interviews. In telephonic interviews, there are lot of hinderances because the only way you can show your passion for the job is with the help of your voice (intonation, pitch etc). In a face to face interview, as an applicant I believe you can communicate a lot with your body language and the way in which you present yourself across to the interviewer. Also, you have an opportunity to evaluate your future employer in a better manner.
Employer side, personal or face to face interview is better. but for applicant's side, they may prefer telephone interviews.
I asked this question because yesterday i had a telephone interview but I wasn't successful, it's my first time being denied a job opportunity ,
I wanted to hear someonesay a face to face interview is better
