What is Project Scope Management?

Project scope is the part of project planning that involves determining and documenting a list of specific project goals, deliverables, tasks, costs and deadlines.

it is the boundary of the project and product.

i.e., what is included and what is not included in the project

Project Scope is part of Project Management.  It is determining a list of activties and deliverables required to reach the project obkective.   Timelines and stakeholders are determined to complete each task.

In project management, the term scope has two distinct uses- Project Scope and Product Scope.

Scope involves getting information required to start a project, and the features the product would have that would meet its stakeholders requirements.

Notice that Project Scope is more work-oriented, (the hows,) while Product Scope is more oriented toward functional requirements. (the whats.)

Project scope management includes the processes required to ensure that the project includes all the work required, and only the work required, to complete the project successfully. Managing the project scope is primarily concerned with defining and controlling what is and is not included in the project.

In brief Project Scope Management provides an overview of  Initiation, Scope Planning, Scope Definition, Scope Verification and Scope Change Control.

I include the processes required to ensure that the project includes allthe work reqired, and the only work required,  to complete the project successfully. In simple words It concerned with defining and controlling what is  or is not incuded in the Project.
