yes passion is oneof the ingredient towards success in carreer however it may accompanied by someone's views about luck i.e optimize it when it occurs , views about talent i.e out source it if lacking and identifying opportunities (rapid growth field) and creating opportunities :) .... Singulalrily having passion may not bring over all success and fullfillment in career.
If you are not passionate during your work then what drives you to succeed. In my opinion "Passion" is one of the success factors that differentiate an employee from another. It is also one of the aspects that the person will quit or continue doing what he/she is doing. Yes, there are other factors but if the passion is not there then, it will be easier to quit.
