Is it better for a brand to have multiple accounts on Twitter?

As some of you might know, brands have multiple accounts on Twitter, each with different duties. for example, @companyNameCS acts as a customer support for followers, @companyNameNews acts as a broadcasting account to deliver news and so on.. which is better? Multiple accounts or one single account tweeting about everything?

Yes.
It could result from a situation where the brand is being marketed in a multi-cultural or even multilingual environment...

Well..
It depends on the scale of the brand and its purposes, not to mention addressing different languages/regions as Davis mentioned.
I believe it makes sense to have multiple Twitter accounts for such brands as long as the purpose of each is clear and there is a well structured strategy plan for each.

Considering the customer base and the region brand is operating in, customization would be appreciated !

Is it better? The question is too broad.
Customization can be beneficial in the sports industry.
Networks such as ESPN have twitter accounts for different regions and different sports (@espnfc, @espndeportes, etc.) If you're a small business serving one type of customer then it wouldn't make sense to have more than one.
So the anwer is neither YES or NO.

From what I think , YES.
it is better for a brand to have multiple accounts but not all account s deliver the same point.
they should be different in terms of the targeted sample and the targeted goals.

Well i believe that twitter users is trust oriented , it will be useful to have one account for brand to built trust of the account , and make the account the only Representative of this brand , you may be try to make account verification twitter users love to see the blue tick beside the account name

Dear George,

Having a single or multiple accounts both have its positives and negatives. Such as:

Positives:

1. User base doesnt get divided.

2. Engagement might be higher and single posts would reach more users.

Negatives:

1. Negative feedback could cause issues for brand building.

2. Audience may differ.

For the example you have shared, I'd advice you have2 unique accounts, as1. High possibility for customer support the handle would get complaints, issues, which they may not want other users to notice and2. News is normally a high no. of tweets per day and only the users who may want it should follow the company.

Thank you for the question.

Regards,

Aditya

Its depends on the branding strategy ..
The company can create multiple accounts if the brand is passing through brand extension phase...

first it depends on the purpose/reason to have multiple accounts and then the continued power to drive them.
Personally, I prefer the idea of a single account as it unifies the community and tends to stay more dynamic since there’s one large audience.
It’s an easy way to disseminate information in one central place vs users/fans having to put the effort into finding the group that applies to them.
I think the reality is that some just don’t want to put the effort into doing that.
That being said though, I can see how for say, an international company, it would make sense to have one account service each country.
Interested in hearing others’ viewpoint too.
