How can a teacher improve his teaching skills? Just through teaching experience or certain training?

Both of course. An educator should be a life long learner who seeks knowledge through different resources. Reading, following research, and attending worshops and training sessions help teachers aquire more knowledge , update their information, and reflect on their strenghts and weaknesses. Practice and experience of course is how people, not just teachers continue to learn and grow in general. As long as teachers practice what they preach, ie, think and reflect, review their visions and practices; and seek to improve and develpe, then they are fine

I think a combination of the two Anayat, I'm generally in favour of "practice makes perfect" ie gaining experience, the drawback however is that without training you could very well be practising bad habits that you were unaware that you had picked up or developed.

I think through a specialized teaching which aims at perfecting a specific skill(s). Micro Teaching Skill". Experience sometimes may earn you some degree of experience but most of them are traditional methods and may be having greater side effect as compared to experimented methods...

Training is a must to learn most of the techniques needed to facilitate an environment conducive to learning. Teaching experience is also a must because all the techniques in the world won't matter if a teacher doesn't have enough experience to know when such techniques are needed and when to try a different approach. My vote is on both but I think passion is also a consideration in being a good teacher. I may lack the techniques nor the experience of most learned teachers but i teach with all my heart and soul and having that i think makes me a good teacher.
