Customer customization is possible results in higher customer satisfaction.Minimise wastages.Time, space, and cost saving.. :)
flexibility and capability of design
the most important features of JIT are :
high volume production using minimal inventories, elemination of waste, proper timing of production.
Just in time means zero delay (or minimal delay) between the need for something and making it available. We may also call this "supply on demand" of required raw materials, components, parts and assemblies that go into the production of a finished or semi-finished priduct .
I take this more in the context of supply chain and stock level control aspects of production.
JIT also means zero or minimum time between receiving items in the warehouse and availing them to the production/manufacturing/assembly line .
In its optimal (academic) model, JIT means minimal stock levels, reduced storage areas, less idle money in unused parts/raw materials, ... which translate into money savings and simpler logistics
The most important features of JIT applications are:
· The elimination of discrete batches in favor of production rates,
· The reduction of WIP inventories,
· Production schedules that level the capacity loads and keep them level,
· Mixed model plans and master production schedules where all products are made more or less all the time instead of changing over from one model to another,
· Visual control systems where workers remember how to build the products and execute the schedule without paperwork or complex overhead support, and
· Direct ties to vendors who deliver high-quality goods frequently.
AGREED WITH MR.TAIB AND MR.IQBAL ABUBAKAR
I think inventory and production management
I think i agree & believe the answer of Mr.: Abubaker
Obtaining Almost Zero Cost of Inventory is the most important feature of Just in Time Material Management processes for Production / Operations.
identify and explain five features of jit
So the best feature of JIT it's the reduction in inventory levels
