It depends the type of element. As an average for estimation,120kg/cum will be good enough.

The maximum reinforcement required is0.4% of the concrete area, as we know the area of reinforcement required according design using any code of standards is r*b*d........where r---is the steel ratio,  b----effective width of the section of the element and d-------is the depth from the top compression zone to the center of the reinforcement. The concrete area of a given section let say beam element is b*H, width times the depth. Therefore maximum reinforcement required is0.4%*b*H. And the minimum is0.%*b*H.

Depend on diameter of Required Steel like D2÷162 kg/m

  1. its depend on dia of  bar used in concrete for example the weight of steel of one meter rod having  six mm dia is two hundrerd and twenty grams  and ten mm dia is six hundrerd and twenty grams etc you can find weight of different bars having different diameters by this formula = (d*d)/one hundrerd sixty two

it differs according to godes recommendations and the concrete element , in egypian codes it is about0.08 to1% in superstrucures

or tendering work we can calculate acc: foot=40kg/m3 col=175kg/m3 plinth beam=160kg/m3 slab=8kg/m3 beam=130kg.m3

it wiil be according to the type of your element as example flat slabs need about120kg/m3

Answer is simple “quantity of steel is different in different structural elements because load (tensile force) taken by different element are different”.

Eg:- Load (tensile force) on beam is slightly greater than load on slab so, steel quantity in beam is slightly more than slab. Likewise in every structural elements.

Therefore,

Slab /lintel——0.7 to 1.0% (55 to 78.5kg)/m^3

Columns_______0.8 to 6.0% (62.80 to 471kg)/m^3

Beam __________1.0 to 2.0% (78.5 to 157kg)/m^3

Foundation____ 0.5 to 0.8% (39.25 to 62.80)/m^3

Note:- In most cases we do not go beyond 4%(314kg/m^3) reinforcement in Column because”it will become difficult to pour concrete and compact it”.

According calculation!

Or do you want to know miniamum value? It should be according local norms.

For example, according to SP (Russian norms for Nonprestressed Concrete Structures) minimum reinforcement area should be determined Asmin = mus * b * h0, where Asmin - is the minimum area of reinforcing steel within the tensile zone, mus - is the minimum reinforcement ratio, for bending mus =0.001, for bending with axial force mus =0.0025, b - is the concrete cross-section width, h0 - is the effective depth of cross-section.
