Unfortunately even tiny amounts of asbestos dust can cause lung cancer, a type called mesothelioma.  Once disturbed asbestos can travel as dust particles that can get lodged in a person's lungs and then, years later, mesothelioma can result.  If you're working around asbestos you need to wear a breathing apparatus, at all times, and seek to not disturb it.

Its really a critical issue, specially in construction industry where huge amount of differnt materials are used to protect from heat, temperature, weather etc. and to decorate the buildings. The small amounts of asbestos can damage the lungs and may become the reason of ASBESTOSIS (Cancer). It have both chronic and acute effects. Its the law overall the world to make necessary arrangements before handling asbestos which could be collected from local authorites and from the international authorities (ILO). Only recommended PPEs should be used for handling the asbestos. Tested breathing apparatus should be used always during the job of asbestos. Warning signs should be displayed. Area should be cordon off.
