The anilox roller is engraved with cells that meter and transfer the inks. The finer the

screen (cells per inch) and the shallower the etch, the less ink that will be transferred.

For example, a360 screen would deliver a much finer layer and lesser quantity of ink

and solvents than would a200 screen. A similar screen but lower volume will

effectively reduce the amount of ink transferred.Water-based inks have higher pigment

concentrations by volume that solvent-based inks. Therefore, less water-based ink

volume is required on the printing plate. Anilox roll cells should be adjusted

accordingly. The net result is less ink volume used.

In water based Ink - We get quality printing but for further processes it will scuffed need to another coating to keep printed area safe or if we used deep color to print the job run machine slow with short hight pile delivery in printing unit and here anti setoff powder compulsory to be used in end.

In solvent based - We get less printability but we have a surity in that process it will fast dry through IR lamps than water base with the help of oxidization here we also

Solvent base ink is better than water base ink for printing on coated paper. Because the surface tension of water is higher than the surface tension of organic solvent.

I will say water base is best.. because of lack of abration resistance for solvent base inks
