i believe proper planning and knowledge (know how) is important and saves us time and money ,

we try and fail and keep trying and failing only when we are in a position where we have not aquired the knowledge and know how to complete a process,a project or a job.

try and fail method only works when we are trying to invent something that doesn't really exist.otherwise why waste time and money on something we can aquire the know how and do it right the first time.

I see that it depends on when it is being used. It should not be used during the implementation phase of an approved plan or during implementing standard business processes.

It is very useful during research or during planning.

I highly agree with Mr. Heinz..making decisions or inititiating actions by means of trial and fail method require deeper assessment of losses and value of risk.

We shall be successful if we learn from our mistakes and the cause of failure and should not do those mistake again. By doing so, there shall be more chances of success as compare to failure.

Failure is our best teacher. It won't kill you, it will only make you stronger. Even if you fail, at least you know you gave it your all and you don't have to face the regret of not having tried at all.

If you are passionate about something, by all means, try and fail! It’s the best way to learn!

It depends on how you define success in the first place, which takes us to the "purpose", "objective" or "goal" of the exercise.  If  "exploring", "validating", "learning", "improving", "harnessing" ... or similar words occur in the objective/purpose of the exercise, then trial and failure could be accepted at a certain rate ....  observing that the consequences of the failure can be absorbed and tolerated without major harmful impact !!

Its all about risks, and how big is the impact of the risk you are willing to take, if it does not have a big impact, and you have no other alternative remedy, yes then try it and fail to learn from your mistakes,

Take note that important or severe issues should be dealt with in a tried and tested way, or on best practice
