In case of emergency or when the power goes out:

  1. depend on dry foods and legumes
  2. cook any perishable food items and keep it in closed pots.
  3. take the canned food and UHT packed food.
  4. Add vinegar to meals as popssible to keep freshness of vegetables and kill germs.
  5. Take highly concentrated food as honey and jams which has a long shelf life.
  6. avoid un-wrapped cool raw items.

Note that frozen food takes about4 hours to defrost, in case of emergency keep freezers closed to keep items cold inside. If the case extended more than four hours get things our for cooking process or to transfer to another working freezers anywhere.
