I usually differentiate between (1) being a genius and (2) being a leader !! Leaders ... great leaders .. successful leaders .. effective leaders do NOT need to be genius

and genius people are NOT necessarily leaders .... or may turn to be lousy leaders !! In my view .... leaders (good and successful ones) neet to LEAD others at difficult/challenging times, They need to ENVISION the future of the organization they work for,  They also identify the DIRECTIONS for their organizations to fulfill those visions.  They EMPOWER lower management levels to execute their job responsibilities and they REWARD good performance/results /achievements A genius could be self-running discovering, inventing, innovating, coming up with new things ,,, etc ,,, etc

But not necessarily leading others and not necessarily interacting with others.
