ESPECIALLY IF YOU ASK SERIOUS INVESTIGATIVE QUESTIONS SUCH AS WHAT IS YOUR COMPANY'S SET GOALS AND WHAT STRATEGIES ARE EMPLOYED TO ACHIEVE TARGETS AND SET GOALS? WAS THE PERSON I AM REPLACING IN TUNE WITH SUCH STRATEGIES?TELL ME MORE ABOUT HIS PERFORMANCE,WHY WAS HE LET GO OR REPLACED? AFTER ALL IF YOU WANT TO HELP GROW A DEPARTMENT WITHIN A COMPANY,YOU NEED TO KNOW WHERE YOU STAND?WILL YOU BE SUPPORTED BY SENIOR MANAGEMENT?WILL YOU BE ABLE TO TRIGGER POSITIVE PERFORMANCE ?ARE THEY LOOKING FOR A PERSON WHO WOULD ADMINSTER WORK OR A PERSON WHO WILL LEAD CHANGE AND BRING HARMONY AND SUCCESS TO HIS TEAM AND COMPANY?WHAT DO YOU THINK?
The questions you asked are very good questions, but employer don’t want to engage in such discussions. Strategies and goals probably "confidential" , and about the person you are replacing probably they don't want to talk because now they are now forced to spend time looking for the new one.
You are asking questions that are difficult (very good ones) but scary. Maybe the person you are asking this doesn't know the answers, or they simply want to get over with the interview. Many times companies search for "YES" employees, and from your comment I can see you are person that questions Status-quo, want to know and learn. If they feel offended this means you are not compatible with that company’s' culture and you should thank to them for letting you know that so early.
Its very important question. They dont have much time for any long discussion with the candidate. this is the reason just they want to take interview point by point only.
Due to lack of openness and professional approach. An authoritative approach could also be one of the reasons.
Such questions are asked just for a formality.
I think because they have an idea about the applicants which is they came to the interview just to accept the offer, whatever it is, if so why the applicant want to ask ? ... this irritates him then an expression bad appears on hid face.
