normally by default all the workstations are configured to resolve the domain name automatically. unless you manually changed the default settings.

There is a service called DNS (domain name system). this service resolve the domain names. this service has to be configured on the server side to resolve the client domain name requests.

on the internet DNS system is done by the ISP where the website is hosted.

In LAN environment. you have to install a windows server. DNS system is a part of windows server. you can configured the server to resolve the domain names in your LAN.

The correct network IP is setup and more important the gateway is set up.
