ASP.NET back then was a very exiting feature eg. IGoogle(not web parts but similar) and similar sites , allowing the user to modify around personalize his view, get data in smaller screen parts of your browser . In recent times I haven't seen anything similar. Is mobile , cross device the reason ?
ASP does exist on any browser of any type onto any platform\\enviroment.
This is becuase the server only needs to know ASP and .NET and windows. It actually provide clients with basic HTML which can be understood by any browser.
