How does one apply agile methods within an application support process?

I would expect the Agile software process to be followed in the software "production" which has about5 phases; requirements (analysis) - design - implementation (coding) - testing - integration and packaging (deployment and support).
However, the agile methodology itself is built on iterations, and in each iteration further information is provided, more defects got fixed, extra requirements have been implemented.
