Why not popularise Solar Power more.It is abundant, natural and safe.Fossil fuels are exhaustible & harmful to the Earth due to green house effects?

Solar Power can be developed by anyone on the Earth. It costs nothing after the initial set up.This type of power should be taken up & adopted in a big way, individually & collectively by big corporates.

I think this is the important topic for now. Solar power generation should be encouraged and should be make practicable. But this instant of time i think the initial cost of solar system is too high and the longevity is also factor. In this type of electricity generation we need to work more to develop efficient solar power generation system. I think it is the most useful alternative for the generation of power because it is inexhaustible and have no running cost.

The cost per kw generation is high in case of solar power plant.

Solar Power Plant technology is limited due to following reasons:

(a) it requires a large area for the generation of even a small amount of electric power

(b) it cannot be used in cloudy days or at night

(c) it is an uneconomical method (very important cause)

Solar power (and i'm talking specifically about Photovoltaics) has a very low efficiency that decreases more with the increase of temperature , add this to the fact that we still haven't discovered / invented a reliable method to store electricity on a major scale , this means we can't use it at night .
