Have Autodesk Revit reduced the use of AutoCAD?

As architectural firms round the globe are turning towards BIM softwares specially Revit and ArchiCAD and it seems that use of AutoCAD as design and drafting software is gradually reducing. Do you agree?

Revit suits for Architectural, construction designs works etc,  best suits for civil works.

On the mechanical side where geometric constraints, fits and tolerance comes into play, You need to rely on AutoCAD mechanical suit. So it doesnt means that Autodesk Revit reduce the use of AutoCAD.

Moreover AutoCAD have different suits intended to support specialized areas.

Revit is new to the design market and it’s started ruling the word, now employer needs persons who knows both AutoCAD and Revit. I am afraid with in few years it will happen, Revit will wipeout AutoCAD.

Yes Slightly. But very soon Revit shall take the lead. Most of the organizations are moving into Revit.

I will not agree! Until now AutoCAD is the most commonly used by international companies rather than any other design and drafting softwares. Although some are using ArchiCAD, Revit etc. but still using Autocad software so it means not reducing but only a plus.

BIM is the key feature which connects a revit model to all branches of engineering. Making changes is easy as updating the revit model updates all parameters and drawings unlike in autocad where in large projects one small change could involve updating large no of files. Hence the time saved makes Revit  more competitive than Autocad

not yet . even when revit is used the final product sheets had to be submitted as DWG and some times its need little modifications and auditing

In fact, AutoCAD is the most common tool. Among all3D Engineering tools, SolidWorks is widely used. However, CATIA, Inventor, Pro Engineer etc are also used . Yet, the3D tools are not much widely used in Middle East.

In Construction Industry,  Autodesk Revit shall very soon replace AutoCAD or at least reduce its use.

I do not think Alrevic AutoCAD software program will stop, or the hands of quality it is necessary because the project prints and converts AutoCAD after finishing it and send it to the site implementation

Only in some certain areas,. But I don't think we can avoid AutoCAD in anyways.
