Sir from my bitter personal experiance I can tell one of the reasons is I am not that young. As u gain experiance and earn degrees u also get old.

The reason why sometimes the most qualified person doesn't get the job is because some of the hiring managers are subjective. they only hire the people they like. Other reason is that some of the applicants who are qualififed to the position are boastful and full of themselves, or maybe they were just over qualiffied for the position.

Sometimes positions are filled based on favoratism, nepotism, and personal connections and influence. Even some positions are advertised as job vacancies and candidates are interviewed although these positions have already been filled. Other reasons could be due to the candidate's place of residence, age, work permit issues, etc.
