Very few in Middle East. But3D Engineering is picking up drastically due to its advantages over AutoCAD. Many oilfield companies are using SolidWorks / Inventor to develop equipments and tools.

i tried both, i found my self comfortable with pro e which is called now Creo. more fluid and flixable in my own point of view. some companies here in saudi work with Solidworks and some with Creo, but not many, still lots of companies here stick to autocad. i've heard that many prefer solidworks coz its cheaper

solid works program can be used widely in engineering industries for example if you talk about refregerators and it`s similars you may use sheet metal module to design itis body with wide range of punches ,ribs, lances and you can design your own one to use upon sheet metal ,also for valves industry you can design the valve desired then you can use flow simulation module , but if you think about molds you will find some useful lessons at the web , stress analysis can be also accomplished through COSMOSM module , i think you will find som facilities which needs one of these applications any where........i will be pleased for further deals
