What are some good tips to consider when conducting webex training's?

Keep in mind that you typically can't see the students so you can't read body language or facial expressions to see if they are "getting it". So you need to solicit feedback from the students and be sure to keep them engaged. I often call on students randomly, with questions like "Sam, can you provide an example of where this would be used in your organization?" or "Joan, do you think this will be useful to you in your job?". These are questions that keep them engaged but don't put them on the spot. It keeps the students paying attention as we all tend to easily be distracted during webex's. Also, plan breaks just as you would in a classroom and be prepared for "technical difficulties". Otherwise apply the same techniques you would in a classroom and remember that if you are not using video to show your face, then you need to use your voice to convey expression. I hope this helps!

One of the most common things I notice when I participate in web-exes is that the participants join the audio 'bridge' not knowing that there is a web-ex or not knowing how to connect, or looking for passwords while other wait.
This is fairly common from senior managers.
The invite should be sent out as crisply and concisely as possible with the web-ex link and the call details.
If senior management is involved - their assistants/secretaries should be reminded a few minutes before the call that it is a web-ex.
Rehearse the entire presentation before the actual call - since you dont see faces - it is important that you are able to engage with the audience.
Organizations are global - so it is important to ensure your content is inline with the target audience across countries and cultures.
Let the audience know if the presentation copy shall be shared at the end of the presentation and whether the web-ex is being recorded or not.
Ensure you have a systems person on standby when conducting a webex (or the phone number at hand) - in case of technical difficulties.
In order to engage with the audience - after a couple of slides try opening up for relevant (I repeat) relevant Q&A to the slides presented.
