Does a industry type we work in matters the most in our professional experience?

I think it matters on the career. If you work in an auto industry, the career will be developed around the same field. But this should not be blocking any individual to select the interested field  and develop the career. The industry you previously worked shouldn't be the criteria for the selection of any new employee to the firm .It should be the talent and capability of the individual.
