what are the things have to do before begin the variation work as Quantity Surveyor...? and whose are going to related to this activity....?
Variation is accordingly doing activity which is coming to do apart from original contract. variation will attend at any stage of work, it is as of client comfortable. so there are omission and addition. if it is addition the contractor can give new price if not specified in contract regarding variation. so one time one party will have benefit and other time another party will have great benefit.
actually it will depend on parties involving the variation work that carry out in site. it might be client, consultant & main contractor or client, consultant, main contractor and main sub contractor.
Variations Can happen at any stage of a Project. Variations are issued as a change order from the employer or additional requirements through the agent to the contract Administrator. Quantity Surveyor evaluate the change and price it. If it happens early in the design stage, it could benefit both the parties. Same procedure for estimating the preliminaries or any technique for a formal work costing could also be applied to variations. The estimated cost of variations are then submitted to agent via Contract Administrator. The employer could accept it or can reject it according to the conditions of contract in use.
