Salary is one part of the equation, employee satisfaction is a mix of salary, reward for achievement, stimulating working environment, empowerment, recognition, career path openings and others.
The balance should be carefully studied and no one aspect should be considered in substitution for another; it is a difficult process to balance and HR is not the only player in this process management , however striving for perfections will bring at least good results.
By the way HR although is not the only player can and must cater for all these company's realities and develop a balanced approach to a work proposal.
I have more then25 years of experience, but I go for the best job, not the best salary..
