Gender bias should be a strict no. In the given scenario, other factors which I would consider are the experience and exposure etc.
It doesn't matter whether it is a male or a female. As long as the person has the capabilities to manage the team, and maturity to deal with issues and difficult situations, I will choose that person...
Male/female is not a criteria at all. No matter if they have same skills, there must be some difference either it is micro. If still you are unable to find any difference, i would suggest to consider their experience.
i don't have any problems if a female managed the team, you judge a person if they can do the job and have the expertise.
This is a discriminating question. As a leader or manager you would know who is best for the job regardless of gender. It usually is defined by their work performance and how well the person is able to meet deadlines, organization, creativity and most of all the ability to put up with the other group while manager is away.
I shall not prefer on sex of the candidate, the main thing to consider is the ability to take charge of project.
And also as of today's era, in professional life there is no difference between female or male. Only the ability counts.
