How is M-Commerce difference from E-Commerce?

The mobile customer is someone we are constantly learning about as mobile adoption becomes more widespread and filters into everyday life. To plan a mobile e-commerce store, we need to put ourselves in the mindset of the mobile customer and understand their intentions and mood.

First of all let's define them both, e-commerce stands for electronic commerce and m-commerce stands for mobile commerce,

 

E-commerce known as electronic commerce, wherein online transactions are done by internet using computers. m-commerce known as mobile commerce, wherein transactions are done on a cellular and mobile device. m-commerce has been becoming a popular now-a-days, because it is portable to carry everywhere and easily make transactions through internet access. There are many difference between ecommerce and m-commerce, which are mentioned in this infographic

In operational sense , both M-commerce and Ecommerce are same. Its just the screen that differs . From a strategic point of view , there is a difference . If the purchase is through a Mobile App , there is a strong likelihood of that customer returning, since there is an app in his phone that he might come across. The sms or telecom VAS based M commerce play is outdated.

M- commerce or mobile commerce is also a form of e-commerce . While e- commerce have been traditionally associated with web sites , m- commerce takes it a bit further by BRI going in the mobility factor into it, this may comprise of a simple WAP call ( mobile site), mobile commerce in form of mobile applications , SMS and USSD based commerce,Integrated Voice Response System(IVRS) etc.
