School Policies, Teacher qualifications and commitment, student /peer attitude, school and classroom atmosphere and affects of social media etc.
Definitely NOT! Going to school is one of the fundamental elements of growing up and is the first step towards leading a rewarding and fulfilling life. School should be a place of learning, a place of social interaction with your peers, it should be a place with strong moral values, a place of discipline and order. Above all else a school should be a safe and happy place where children take their first tentative steps towards "discovering" the world that we live in.
Home Schooling cannot be compared to the traditional classroom.
The traditional classroom lend itself to socializing with peers. Human beings are social learns and to make learning experiential and memorable, students need the classroom setting to make learning meaningful. In this model teachers are at the centre of the education system as facilitators of knowledge, they delivery, plan and adjust the curriculum to students needs, in a positive condusive atmosphere using different multi-modal teaching tools to facilitate learning. School policies allow for the curriculum to be effectively delivered by teachers. While it is the teachers' responisibilty to ensure continuous professional development on new trends in education. I personally cannot see "Home Schooling" effectively doing all these responsibilties of the traditional classroom teacher, hence in today's world online schooling is always "blended learning" in some form. This is due to the basic fact of communication and socializing among peers. The key to education is student collaborating, socializing and creating new meaning to topic contents. This is key to education. Thus, though the child is influenced by social media in todays world, social media isn't always correct, the role of the teacher again to to faciltate and correct misconcepts. Experienced teachers are committed to students learning in and out of the classroom and know how best each student learns.
I DONT THINK HOME SCHOOLING IS A GOOD IDEA SO FAR BECAUSE CHILDREN NEED TO KNOW THE OUTSIDE ENVIRONMENT AND SHARE EXPERIENCES.
Home school is a good idea but it takes dedication from the parents and a constant determination from the child. There a lots of possitives and negitives to home schooling your child you have to take into consideration that your child if home schooled from a young age will not have any social interaction with other children of the same age and this could effect their social standard. If you follow a strict school programme and work hand in hand with a nearby school to ensure that you follow the same curriculum and arrange that you child has some classes at the school e.g Art and Culture and Physical Education your child will have a balanced education allowing for social interaction.
Definitely yes
To some extent the absence of the peer influence factor in the classroom will be missed. I support home schooling only as a support arragement to conventional school.
By going to school, children not only study but they can interact with firneds and teachers. Furthermore school has expertise in all the area that the students need. As such I do not believe in home schooling for my children
There is a HUGE Different between 'School' & 'Education'. Traditionally Parent send their children to school to seek knowledge for lifelong skils but present days its more about getting educated for career propspect therefore the core essential of learning is missing its fundamental. The other problem is, shool curriculum are design for children to be obedient unnecassarily (e.g asking pernission to go to the toilet) and it does not promote free- thinking, curiosity, taking initiative for the creative mind to flow naturally and imaginatively as a child, especially in the Middle East most Children are lacking passion and drive to go to school. They are like walking zombies behind program to be obedience and going through motion without knowing the purpose. You will be suprised to see that most IVY League Schools and College in the West, have ultimately different sets of learning skills and curriculum as their main objective is to mold their students into leaders and not just obedient worker. There is an educational documentary from BBC interview college students with general knowledge question e.g. Who is Kofi Anan? Give me a country that starts with the letter U? Suprisingly, that prove this point, that the current educational system today failed in educating children and adult Home Schooling on the other hand, in now becoming more and more famous in the western world. Home Schooling children have proven to be a product of genuise and intellectual upbringing in compariosn to children who attend mainstream schools. Do research more about home schooling and you will be amaze of how effective it is in educatingyour child and monitoring your child development.
