Important task is the one, the impact of which is high and may effect organization's activities. While urgent task is an emergency work that arose because of some situation.

I will evaluate the impact of task and then act accordingly, that is to say if my refusal to take urgent action will lead to resignation of employee, who have committed fraud. Then I shall tell management to detain him, till he is ready to pay off embezzled money and halt writing an important audit report for a while.

Important one not planned! For Urgent one it is even classified as Urgent and planned. Important one1st, it is not everyday.
