Why customer service is so important to online shoppers?
Divyesh,
The only consoling explanation I can find for this "new policy" is that we are obviously dealing with a software bot or some kind of automatic moderation of question tags, based on the words' occurrence in the question with as little HUMAN intellectual intervention as possible. In your case, there are only three words to attach specialties to: customer service, online, shopping. But since there are no devoted specialties to the last two, an arbitrary choice was made (automatically by a machine) for customer service. So, it can't be a professionally knowledgeable person. That's a comfort!
The funny thing is that, looking at the question now, I wonder why I got mighty8 votes up for my answer. You see, "customer service" is NOT LISTED as one of my specialties. Would I have cheated? Am I to doubt my "customer service" knowledge now or am I to think that I am the absolute authority in it, even without listing it? Paradoxical indeed, isn't it?!
It basically means that only those professionals who listed "customer service" as their specialty can or should cast a judgment on this question (that just happened to include the word "customer service" in it). A general manager, CEO, entrepreneur, marketer, salesman, business developer, manager, leader, e-commerce specialist, digital marketer, CRM specialist and the list goes on, has no business trying to add an answer of substance to this question, unless "customer service" happens to be among his/her five LISTED specialties.
Off course this will contribute to channeling questions to the right specialties and avoiding misuse and unfairness in allocation of specialty credits, but it will do much more.:
I see the "success" of this policy looming around the corner, but I may not be around here to witness it, unless nobody messes up with my question tags anymore! Be my guest to switch off credit allocation to my record entirely, but please, for the love of God, don't mess up with MY questions' tags and those of other MODERATORS, since (by rule of meaning) it's THEIR job is to… moderate. Or you can change the title into "major contributor" with no "strings of authority" or "assumed knoweldge" attached.
