Mass Production is pionered by Henry Ford, Mass Production adds the following to the industrial revolution era's principles:

  1. ٍStandard products and operational efficiency.
  2. Flow (Usage of conveyors at final assembly).
  3. Economies of scale.

Problems with the Ford system:

  1. Lack of ability to provide product variety.
  2. Lack of model changeover ability customers' demand for a product.

Problems with Mass Production:

  1. Long delivery times.
  2. Weakness in responding to customer demands.
  3. Increase in inventories.
  4. Decrease in quality.
  5. Increase in non value adding activities.
  6. Work becoming more complex everyday.
  7. Increasing hierachy and bureaucracy.
  8. Additional costs.
  9. Difficulty in adapting to variations.
  10. Long term planning necissity.
  11. More capital requirement.
