Nuclear power is a form of energy that results from profound changes in the structure of matter itself.
Together with renewable energy sources and fossil fuels, is a source of primary energy, or is present in nature and is not derived from the processing of other forms of energy, and is considered a viable energy alternative to traditional fossil fuels.
Although some consider this also as a renewable energy source, the European Commission has recently expressed by saying that nuclear power is not to be considered as renewable.
Although also represents largely a form of clean energy from the point of view of emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere, has at least in part several other environmental problems and public safety as regards the phenomena related to the radioactivity through the radioactive waste .
According to the latest edition (relative to2009) Uranium Resources, Production and Demand (informally known as the Red Book) which is published every two years by NEA and IAEA in co-operation [10], uranium resources "proved up" (ie those already identified and removed at no cost above130 U.S.
dollars / kg, which is the price level that today is conventionally acceptable) amount to about6.3 million tonnes, ie an increase of15.5% compared to the previous edition of the text.
These proven reserves the Red Book estimate that you can add additional10.5 million tons that have not yet been discovered but which shall in all circumstances be regarded as very likely (always at a cost of extraction of up to130 U.S.
dollars / kg) in according to the geological knowledge acquired during studies to activities other than the search of uranium.
Estimates of the potential recoverable instead of around200 U.S.
dollars / kg that about35 million tons.

you will be amazed if you knew , that the cost of these plants are quite cheap , the only barrier that might be mentioned , is the problem of the nuclear waste , and the problem of securing the area in case of leak disasters , or environmental disasters , god forbids !
