Yes, a leader should encourage participtions by team members and then select the suggestion that they all agree on. Doing this the decisions are not coming from him only but from the whole team.

Yes, why not when it comes from someone that makes sound decisions. But before, he/she should be given a chance and taught how to do it with no bad impact on the business.

My My version goes like this

A leader ensures he takes the input from everyone and finally he is the one who will call the shots.

No, it is the responsibility and authority stucked to leaders

Hello Salauddin,

No, Leaders need to make the decisions, but the way they make those decision could involve asking for employees input on matters that relate to their speciality.

If a leader leaves the decision making process and privilege to each individual the company will fail, as a major part of being a leader or a manager is to look at the big picture and implement day to day strategies and decisions to reach the overall stratigies and goals of the organization.

When a leader abandons that responsibility then the company will sure go the wrong way.

Here is how I see it. the leader should always determine the outcome of any situation, involve the team to provide input, brainstorm, then the leader makes the call.
