It depends on the operations company you join, most of biggest oil operations company working in ME have high standards of compenstes & salaries.
Also, the experience which engineer has, plays big rule to determine salary.
Moreover, career level, which (in another way depend on experience).

The market of all kinds of drilling is booming nowadays.
Millions of drilling meters are awarded to the companies inside middle east region, For both mining and construction fields.
The drilling engineers are rare in my country.
And drilling investments are a high profitable business n the Middle East especially in GCC.
